President William Ruto has recently made significant changes to Kenya's Cabinet. On December 19, 2024, he nominated former allies of ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta—Mutahi Kagwe, Lee Kinyanjui, and William Kabogo—to Cabinet positions. Additionally, Kipchumba Murkomen, previously serving as the Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary, was reassigned to the powerful position of Interior Cabinet Secretary.
Earlier in the year, in July 2024, President Ruto dismissed his entire Cabinet, retaining only Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. This move was in response to widespread youth-led protests against proposed tax hikes and economic challenges. Subsequently, he appointed new Cabinet Secretaries, including members from opposition parties, aiming to form a broad-based government to address national grievances.
As of December 2024, the updated Cabinet includes:
President: William Ruto
