President William Ruto began his 3rd day tour by inaugurating the Mageta Island Solar PV mini-grid, a significant step in enhancing renewable energy access in the area. Additionally, he launched the Siaya Fresh Produce Market and the Siriwo Rice Mill, initiatives aimed at boosting the local economy and supporting agricultural development. He was accompanied by various leaders from Siaya County, County governor Hon. James Orengo, Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo and other leaders as well.
Ruto is also attending a thanksgiving service for Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi, who hails from the region. This visit to Siaya is part of Ruto's broader development-focused tour of Nyanza, which has included stops in Migori, Kisumu, and Homa Bay counties, where he launched various infrastructure and social projects.
